Ghee As A Beauty Enhancer
-by Tanvi Shah
The primary uses of ghee are as a food ingredient, a form of medicine, and as a beauty product.
Vitamins A, K, E and Linoleic acid are highly sought after in the western world for their skin rejuvenation properties. They are readily available via desi ghee in an easily digestible form. For this same reason, ghee is used as a beauty product on its own or with honey, saffron, satavari or ashwagandha.
External uses of ghee have included: skin moisturization; skin cream; lip balm; dry and aging skin rejuvenation; and as nail and cuticle cream.
Pure ghee is easily absorbable by each cell inside the body and can penetrate to the deepest tissues of the body. Ghee also brings out the potency of the herbs. Ghee is used as a beauty product and for medicinal purposes on account of these properties.
The mother cow nourishes us with this awesome product.
My belief is not to waste ghee as a beauty product or a face mask, but to eat it instead of wiping it off the face.
Nutrients will eventually reach the skin from the inside. This makes more sense to me than using ghee externally to treat the skin for beauty purposes. Radiant skin might take a tad longer to achieve than with face masks, however, as it works internally, the results will arguably be more potent and durable, and will begin to work on all systems instead of just the integumentary system (skin). Beauty and health, in and out.
