In fact, ghee is commonly known as the golden elixir in India. It is derived from a special breed of cow in India called the desi cow or Bos Indicus. Milk products from this breed are also known as A2 milk products. The difference between the Indian desi cow and the other cows is the hump at the back. The purest breeds of these desi cows are in India. Many countries have cross breeds with this indigenous cow; however, the pure breed cows are found almost exclusively in India.
